2. Feleipe Franks

Easily the most surprising story in camp has been the fact Franks has made plays with regularity at the tight-end position. A season after failing to make an impact at the quarterback position Franks is attempting to become a tight-end and early results have been impressive from a quarterback who does have an ability to make plays if he can escape the pocket.

Can Franks make a play in this game and continue the early hype he has been garnering? In a rebuilding season it is a fun story to follow, one that will give Franks a chance to make a roster he likely would have been cut from if he stayed at the quarterback position.

Feleipe attempted to play a utility role last season but was underwhelming in limited chances unable to break a big play. Perhaps moving positions will be the oppurtunity he needs to use his speed and athletcism to lock in a contributing role.

The one concern here is the fact Atlanta is already starting a tight-end in Kyle Pitts who isn’t known for his blocking. If Franks makes the roster it is going to have to be as the third or fourth option with a blocking tight-end starting alongside Pitts.
