1. Arthur Smith

Arthur Smith’s seat might not have been hot after week one’s collapse but it certainly was warmer than it has been at any point during his first two seasons with the team. Smith oversaw yet another Atlanta Falcons collapse and made very questionable decisions along the way. Smith followed this up by calling out the media for writing Atlanta off in a post-game presser that was far from taking responsibility for what happened in week one.

Smith followed this up by what looked like a blowout loss to the Rams, a game the Falcons should have lost after three quarters. Instead, Smith calmly coached his team back into the game and helped put them in a position to get a late upset win in Los Angeles.

You can tell a lot about a team by how hard they play for their coach when getting blown off the field. The Falcons were down 28-3 and made this a touchdown game late. This speaks to the team’s belief in themselves and Arthur Smith. Despite the rocky start to the season Smith’s team has fought with two superior rosters and been one play away from winning either game speaking to how hard they are playing for Smith and the fact that perhaps Arthur has this team pointed in the right direction.
