3. Atlanta doesn’t need Lamar to win the NFC South

Looking at the NFC South as we head into the off-season and the position each team is in it is clear Atlanta should be the favorites headed into the off-season. The Saints are a mess under Dennis Allen and Tampa is an aging second-mosts removed from being a serious contender. The Panthers have a solid roster but still have questions at quarterback and whether they have the right head coach.

This should be Atlanta’s division to lose with an off-season of impact moves with nine draft picks and the second most cap space behind Chicago in the league. Add in the ease of Atlanta’s schedule next season and there is plenty of reason to believe this team could host a playoff game next year with Desmond Ridder at quarterback.

Even if Ridder doesn’t prove himself to be the answer the Falcons have the ability to build a roster strong enough to win ,even with an average quarterback. Bringing in a veteran they can rely on behind Ridder and counting on the young quarterback developing and focusing on the run game is the right move for Atlanta unless a star quarterback chooses Atlanta. Even in that extremely unlikely scenario Atlanta should weigh their future heavily and the team they will be able to build if they simply stick with Ridder moving forward.

Falcons should no longer fear Brady. dark. Next
