A lot was put on Mykal Walker’s plate for 2022. He was expected to become the Atlanta Falcons’ second linebacker behind Rashaan Evans. Instead, he became the de-facto starter for most of the season who would usually get pulled for the rookie partway through each game.

Walker had a great rookie season with the limited snaps he was given and was average in his sophomore year. This year wasn’t even average as he looked like he was playing catchup on each play.

Rashaan Evans is a free agent and if the team doesn’t bring him back then Walker will become even more important. They are bound to give Troy Anderson more snaps next season but Walker will need to pull his own weight if he wants to stick with the team.

He needs to slow the game down and process things better as he has seemed just a tick slow ever since his rookie season.
