6 Teams the Falcons will be contending with for final four playoff spots
By Nick Halden
6. Seattle Seahawks
A team that parted ways with their veteran head coach and is in a rebuilding phase might not be a popular pick here. However, bear with the reasoning a moment and consider how weak the bottom of the conference is. Atlanta in the AFC isn't a playoff team but has the ability in the NFC to win a division or claim a top-two wildcard spot.
This speaks to how far apart the standards are for both conferences. Seattle has the advantage of bringing in new energy to a very experienced roster. Geno Smith has been a great story in Seattle and will look to take a step forward this year.
What makes Seattle an interesting pick is a great group of young weapons and a coaching staff that is easy to get behind. Yes, they are the third most talented team in their own division but it wouldn't be shocking to see a division get three teams in. Whether it is the 49ers, Rams, and Seahawks or the Lions, Packers, and Bears the divisions with the most talent are clear.
Seattle is a forgotten team who has a schedule that will allow them to hang in contention late into the season.
