The offensive lineman. The overlooked red headed stepchild of the NFL. No position is so crucial to a football teams success as the men in the trenches. Wayne Gandy is just that guy, a fighter a competitor who will give his all and has been a good player in this league for 14 years now. So imagine how nice it is to see a familiar face comeing back to play and fill a huge need for the Falcons.
St. Louis drafted him in the 1st round back in 1994. To put a spin on that think of this: Clinton was in [...]

Gandy a Falcon….. again!
Halloween fright fest
As the days draw closer to my personal favorite holiday I would like to take not of some of my fellow bloggers favorite horror and scary movies.
Give me the rundown guys & and girls let’s see what you are all made of. Tell me the movies title and why if is your favorite. The better the review the more respect from everyone in the FSB.
Halloween: John Carpenter created the best psycho film of all time and simultaneously created the structure for the modern slasher film from Friday the 13th and beyond. Michael Myers still stands alone on top of the Mt. [...]
Atlanta loses to Philly 27-14
Philadelphia, PA, The Eagles are a better team. There I said it. Donovan McNabb is a good QB and he proved it today. He played hard took some shots and exposed our secondary all game long. Brian Westbrook looked so good all day catching passes and running on the Falcons.
Pressure. It is so key to winning football gams and this was in my opinion the ket reason why we did not win a really winnable game. There was not enough sustained pressure on the pocket and because of that the Falcons stand at 4-3 and second place in the NFC [...]
Ryan comes home to Philly
The Falcons stand at 4-2 coming off of the bye week and face a potent Philadelphia Eagles team. Matt Ryan will play his first pro game in his home town and from what I understand 30+ friends and family members will be there at Lincoln Financial Field to support him.
Well coming from a guy all the way in Phoenix I say to you Matt Ryan….. Kill those Iggles! Bash the hell out of them. Pass the ball all day long if you can and score a ton of points. make Lito Sheppard wish he was with another team (too late!).
Matt [...]
Bizarro football world
Cowboys, Chargers, Saints, Colts and Seahawks all of them are under .500.
Atlanta, Tennessee, Carolina, Arizona, Buffalo all over .500
Crazy man crazy!
The Falcons have had a great 7 weeks. Ryan, Turner, Mike Smith and the whole thing. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Buffalo is looking really really good. They are well balanced have a good team and young players who will be good for a long time to come. I look forward to seeing what this team does in the AFC.
Carolina is just a cool team. There I said it. I like them. Johnathan Stewart is my favorite rookie not named Matt Ryan and I [...]
Falcons at Eagles
The Atlanta Falcons have a tall order. A big order.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the first opponent off of our bye and I have to say that I am scared. Not scared enough that I am not picking my birds to beat these birds but still this team is not to be taken lightly.
First off, Brian Westbrookappears to be coming back from his rib injury just in time to add one more demension to what has been a pretty potent offense. The thing that doesen’t make sense to me is why they are so good. The receiving corps isn’t very good [...]
Cowboys
I try to focus on the Falcons as much as possible but I am going to make an exception here because I can.
First off I am not going to play the “I hate the Cowboys” game that is so popular because I frankly don’t hate them. In fact I am a bit closeted in my admiration of the franchise. It isn’t so much the team they have on the field is so great but that there is just some kind of mystique with that blue star deep in the heart of Texas.
They have two of my personal favorite players [...]
Thoughts on the bye week
The Bye week…… The time when football fans get to stay home and watch other teams. It sounds ok and all but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that there is just a void in not seeing your team for that one week. Why is it that we get our team for the entire preseason and 16 regular season games and for those lucky ones the playoffs. But one week one freaking week and my whole world goes to hell. I am going to Los Angeles this week just so I don’t have to think [...]
Matt Ryan threw for 301 yards for the first time in his NFL career and lead the Falcons to a literal last second win. Ryan is the clear choice here folks. Let’s vote Matt Ryan!
The Bird Speaks!
Atlanta 4-2 after win over Bears
The Chicago Bears came into Atlanta with a 3-2 record and leading the NFC North. Tonight they are leaving at 3-3.
The Falconsnow hold a 4-2 record and are tied for 1st in the NFC southwith Carolina and Tampa Baywho played each other and ended with a Bucs win.
Matt Ryan was the story of the game today leading his receivers down the field on what seemed like one amazing throw after another. Roddy White and Michael Jenkins seemed to catch everything that was thrown their way.
The Bears secondary looked befuddled on almost every passing down while stuffing every rushing attempt that came their [...]
