2015 Schedule Released

The biggest Falcons news this morning is of course the release of the 2015 regular season schedule. The Falcons open up with a trio of NFC East opponents, hosting Philadelphia on Monday Night Football in Week 1 before travelling to New York and Dallas in Week 2 and 3 respectively. You can check out the full schedule here.

Schedule Analysis

Vaughn McClure of ESPN analyzes the schedule. The Falcons have the easiest strength of schedule on paper, but do they have a chance of the playoffs?

"“For the Atlanta Falcons to get off to a strong start, they need to be able to compete against the NFC East. Besides starting the season at home on Monday Night Football against the high-octane offense of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Falcons also make consecutive road trips to the New York Giants andDallas Cowboys in Weeks 2 and 3.”"

Looking at S Durell Eskridge

With all the schedule coverage, it’s easy to forget about the 2015 NFL Draft, which kicks off a week Thursday. Scott Carasik of Bleacher Report takes a look at the Falcons’ possibility of drafting safety Durell Eskridge.

"“Eskridge played a varied safety role for Syracuse and would be a good fit in new head coach Dan Quinn’s scheme as either a free safety or a strong safety. The Falcons would be wise to look at Eskridge in the draft and consider him for a potential starting spot should they pick him.”"
