C.J. Spiller recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, bu is expected to be ready to go by week one. However, anytime a player undergoes surgery this close to an NFL season, there is always a cause for concern. Spiller has a long history of injury, so this is nothing new for him. There is always a possibility that this could drag on into the start of the 2015 regular season.
Spiller isn’t going to be asked to carry a heavy load in 2015. That will be Mark Ingram’s job, but Spiller will still have a very important role with the team. Any time that Spiller would miss would be bad for the Saints who are already down offensive firepower from a year ago. Let’s hope Spiller is able to remain healthy throughout the 2015 NFL season.
