3) A lack of run game doomed the Falcons’ offense

The Falcons’ bread-and-butter in 2015 has been the run game. The ability to have a balanced offense has kept the Falcons moving and has helped extend drives and keep the defense guessing. That wasn’t the case whatsoever against the 49ers.

Devonta Freeman carried the ball 12 times for 12 yards. That is by far a season low for the Falcons. The inability to get the run game going allowed the 49ers’ defense to key in on the Falcons’ wide receivers and shut them down more times than not. That’s all there is too it.
