Why the Atlanta Falcons should trade for Johnny Manziel
It has been no secret that the Atlanta Falcons’ fan base is highly upset with the way Matt Ryan has been playing this season and who could blame them.
The Falcons have dropped four consecutive games including five out of their last six and have put themselves in a position to not make the playoffs after a 5-0 start to the year. that is downright unacceptable and for that reason, the Falcons need to make some changes.
That starts with trading for quarterback Johnny Manziel in the offseason and here’s why.
Manziel’s playing days with the Cleveland Browns are all but over. Mike Pettine doesn’t like Manziel and likely wants him off the team after the season is over. They will put a fairly cheap asking price on him which is why the Falcons should jump all over it.
However, he won’t play quarterback for the Falcons, he will wide receiver.

The Falcons are in dire need of wide receiver help. the team has gone from having one of the leagues’ most deadliest receiving corps to having Julio Jones and a few marbles. That isn’t a recipe for success.
Maiziel will never make it as a quarterback in the NFL. However, his athleticism will keep him around for many years if he makes a switch to receiver. Look at Julian Edelman for example. A former college quarterback turned wide receiver is now Tom Brady’s go-to wide receiver. That’s what Manziel can bring to the table if he is willing to do so.
Sure, this sounds ridiculous but why not give it a shot? The Browns will let Manziel go for a couple of dimes and a nickel and wish him the best of luck. The Falcons need to swoop in, get him buddied up with Jones and let him to work in the offseason.
This is doable people. Not only would Manziel bring more fans to the Falcons, but he will also give them the weapon they have been missing on offense this season.
