– Many evaluators were impressed with Virginia Tech LB Dadi Nicolas and Louisville DT Sheldon Rankins high energy and effort during drills. Rankins may have been the best player along the defensive line for the South team.

–   Alabama LB Reggie Ragland proved to those watching that he versatile enough to play everywhere from the “Mike (middle)” linebacker position to the “SAM (strong)” linebacker. He did well in one-on-one drills and did OK in 7 on 7 scrimmages.

– Oklahoma LB Eric Striker was listed as 5’11 during weigh-ins but showed the skill to help out in nickel situations and help rush the passer.
