8. Matt Hennessy – Guard/Center – Temple University

  • How acquired: 2020 NFL Draft – 3rd round
  • Excitement level: Medium

Matt Hennessy will eventually be Alex Mack’s replacement at center, but in the meantime, he should compete with James Carpenter for the starting spot at left guard.

He was among the best center’s in the 2020 NFL draft and idolized Mack growing up. If he can model his game after Alex Mack, the Falcons will have gotten a steal in the third round.

7. Charles Harris – Defensive end – University of Missouri

  • How acquired: Trade
  • Excitement level: Medium

Like Laquon Treadwell, a former first-round pick that has not lived up the expectations in Miami. Coming to Atlanta and being given a fresh start should do wonders for him and if he can tap into the potential that made him a high draft pick, the Falcons pass rush is the beneficiary.

6. Deone Bucannon – Linebacker – Washington State University

  • How acquired: 2020 free agency
  • Excitement level: Medium

Deone Bucannon will add badly needed veteran leadership that the Falcons desperately need on defense. Another former first-round pick for the Atlanta Falcons and former All-rookie selection.

While we are not as excited about him as others are, he will be an asset to the Falcons in 2020.

5. Todd Gurley – Running back – University of Georgia

  • How acquired: 2020 free agency
  • Excitement level: Medium

There is no doubt that Todd Gurley has the potential to be exciting.

There are a lot of questions that surround his health as well as his declining output over the last couple of years after taking the NFL by storm. At one point he was considered the best running back in the league and was an MVP candidate.

He can add elements to the Falcons offense that they do not currently have and will bring excitement from a local fan perspective. While we wish we were more excited about adding Todd Gurley, there are still more questions about where he is health-wise than anyone has answers.
