Week 18 – vs the New Orleans Saints

There could be a lot riding on this game for both franchises when this game kicks off on January 9th. If both teams are battling for a playoff spot or the NFC South crown, this game will get flexed to NBC and Sunday night football.

It could have all the elements that TV executives want – drama, hatred, and something important at stake.

Both of these franchises are entering the 2021 NFL season with unknowns – though the Saints feel better about their unknowns at the moment than the Atlanta Falcons do. Sure, replacing a Hall of Famer will be difficult but because of Drew Brees’ injury in 2020, they have all the confidence in Taysom Hill entering 2021.

The good news is that by week 18, the Atlanta Falcons should also have their unknowns figured out and while this ends up being their 12th game in a row, they could be riding a helluva win streak with just the Saints standing between them and their first playoff appearance.

If Arthur Smith and Dean Pees are any good, this game is winnable and should have the Falcons completing a perfect 8-0 at home in their first year.
