2. Steven Means had a huge play against the Saints, the first time he has flashed on the screen all season

One could argue outside of Grady Jarrett the Falcons could move off of nearly everyone on their defensive line. It has been a mess and struggled to generate pressure without an extra blitzer.

Atlanta isn’t getting home with the four-man rush and Steven Means is a part of the problem, not the solution. Means had a great moment in the game against the Saints scooping the ball and rushing the ball deep inside Saints territory.

It is the only time I can recall Means having an impact on the course of a game. Atlanta needs pass rushers and Means isn’t a player who is going to find the quarterback with any regularity.

Atlanta has a long list of needed improvements this off-season but near the top is edge rushers. Means has been around long enough that Atlanta knows he isn’t a player who is going to make a big impact.

It is time to move on from Means and add a veteran who is a proven pass rusher or a younger option Atlanta could choose to develop. Whichever route they choose it shouldn’t include Means who will always be remembered for his big play against the hated Saints.
