2. The final game of the season was the final answer for running back Mike Davis

From the outside looking in Mike Davis seems to be a great locker room player and the exact type of guy you want on your team. However, there is no denying what Atlanta expected from Davis, and what tape Davis put together is not quite adding up.

In a tough final game of the season, Davis fumbled the ball twice in key situations. The fumbles were indicative of how the season went for a player the Falcons badly wanted to work. Atlanta needed Davis to bring his bruiser style and help Atlanta establish a run game they haven’t had since Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman were in Atlanta.

Davis has one year left on his deal and should be easy for the Falcons to move. Trading Davis isn’t likely to net the Falcons any notable return but moving the running back will open up a bit of cap space.

Davis will likely find success in another scheme as a depth piece. Atlanta was expecting Davis to be a starter who helped establish the run, a player Davis doesn’t seem to be for the Falcons.
