2. Kyle Hamilton

Kyle Hamilton was the surprise player to fall in this year’s first-round falling all the way to the 14th overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens. There were some questions as to whether or not Atlanta should select a safety 8th overall considering the value at the position. However, it seemed to be a lock heading into draft day that Hamilton would be drafted within the top ten.

His immense talent and playmaking ability made him a day one impact starter with the right defense. Atlanta could have used a player like Hamilton who would have come in and given Atlanta a good secondary.  A.J. Terrell and Casey Hayward are Atlanta’s starting corners and is the one position group that Atlanta has reason to feel great about. Paired with Kyle Hamilton the Falcons would have a shot to have a good secondary and for their defense to take a huge step forward.

Hamilton and Terrell would give Atlanta long-term answers to build around within the secondary and a chance to get consistent stops. Hamilton is a great addition for Baltimore allowing Hamilton to surprisingly join a contending team in the Ravens. Hamilton would have been a great fit in Atlanta and is a prospect Atlanta shouldn’t have passed on.
