Week 6: San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons on October 16th

This will be an exciting game for the Atlanta Falcons, not because of the game itself but because of the debut of a certain throwback helmet.

This is the game where they will debut their 1966 throwback helmets that fans have been waiting a decade to see again.

They will wear them against the 49ers who they got smashed by at the end of last season by a final score of 13-31. They kept up with them for the first half but could only manage three points compared to San Francisco’s 14 in the second half.

If you recall the Falcons pulled off a huge upset against this team, who ended up making the Super Bowl, just a few years ago. You might remember how Julio Jones caught the game-winning TD that was initially ruled short of the goal line but was reversed.

This feels like a game where the Falcons could do something similar.

The Niners are also a team that will be trying to acclimate to a new quarterback in Trey Lance. It feels like he will be either really good or really bad this season, but it gives reason to believe that the Falcons can win this game

With that all being said, the Niners still have a dominant defense and they still have Kyle Shanahan who will find a way to run right through this Falcons’ defense. That feels like the X-factor, if Atlanta can stop the run they will give themselves a fighting chance, if not, Shanahan is just going to shorten the game by running it down Atlanta’s throat.

In the end, that is the difference in this game as the 49ers are able to run out the clock for a game-winning field goal.

Results: 49ers 21, Falcons 20

Record: 2-4
