2. A.J. Terrell

Outside of Jalen Ramsey who was better at the corner position than A.J. Terrell last season? It is hard to make an argument Terrell wasn’t one of the top two corners in the league last season. It is impossible to deny he was a top five corner and had a higher degree of difficulty than his peers. Ramsey is the better corner and has a track record of being historically great.

However, let’s be clear here Ramsey had the benefit of one of the best pass rushes in the league while Terrell was stuck with by far the worst unit in football. Despite this and having far less help around him Terrell managed to put his name in the same conversation as Ramsey.

Despite the season he put together Terrell seems to be garnering little attention this off-season and was ranked by Madden as the 10th best corner in football.  Terrell deserves more attention and respect for his personal accomplishments even if the Falcons’ defense continues to be one of the worst in the league.

This makes Terrell’s ability to shut down opposing receivers all the more impressive. He is one of the best young defensive players in football and one of the few clear building blocks on the Atlanta roster.
