3 Top prospects the Atlanta Falcons should be scouting closely today
By Nick Halden
2. Jalen Carter
Speaking of the Georgia defense if the Falcons believe they have their quarterback of the future at the end of the season Carter should be high on Atlanta’s target list. While the future NFL lineman shouldn’t be playing all that many snaps against Samford on Saturday anytime he is on the field scouts will take notice.
What makes Carter stand out is how easily he is able to move opposing linemen with strength that shows he is clearly ready for the next level. If the Falcons are looking for that final piece in Dean Pees’ defense they could land on drafting Jalen Carter in the first round.
If one or more of Atlanta’s options at edge rusher hit this season imagine a defensive line of Grady Jarrett, Jalen Carter, Arnold Ebiketie, and whoever else manages to impress at edge during the 2022 season. Having Carter and Jarrett working together on the defensive line would be an elite combo that helps Atlanta become a legitimate defense capable of carrying Desmond Ridder in his first full season as a starter. The potential fit is far too exciting to ignore and would keep a Georgia Bulldogs star close to home for a team that needs a star on defense.
