Falcons fans will be intrigued by new uniforms Atlanta just publicly released

You can't please everyone.

The Atlanta Falcons' last uniforms were an absolute abomination to what should be an easy color scheme to cook something up with, so some new jerseys in Atlanta were long overdue. And the timing was perfect as the Falcons will be donning some new threads in Year 1 with this new regime.

And thankfully, the team just released the new jerseys, and they truly did not disappoint. The uppercase "ATL" on the front is gone, and the black jerseys are now an alternate. Just like during Matt Ryan's playing days, the Dirty Birds are back to wearing red uniforms as their primary home jersey.

I know everyone has their thoughts, but so far, it's been mostly very warranted positive reception. While they kind of look like jerseys that the Houston Texans or Arizona Cardinals would wear, the upgrade from last rebrand to this one is monumental, which provides a new glimmer of hope in 2026.

The Atlanta Falcons' new unforms are bringing in new hope for a new era

On the bright side, these new jerseys are making it easy to tell the difference between the 1 and 7 unlike last time, but having no black uniforms in the rotation is a bummer--but I expect the black throwbacks they often wore across the last few seasons to return on an occasional basis in 2026.

My other big critiques are the lack of grey pants compared to the white, and the lack of a red helmet to complement the red jersey. We waited a really long time for this reveal, and I question if it was worth the anticipation when the Falcons were unable to listen to what else the fanbase wanted.

Then again, maybe I should count my blessings since Arthur Blank listened by giving us new jerseys in the first place, so while most fans (including myself) like them, I get why people are disappointed. The black throwbacks very easily could have served as the new main jerseys, but the red uni is cool.

They are meant to be modeled off of past Falcons' jerseys, but utilizing stripes on the uniform sleeves would have been a nice touch. The away jerseys are a bit plain especially, but if they were going to rebrand, the bar was underground. Hell, I would've preffered a return to the Ryan-era unis to these.

It's a fine uniform combo since it's a tad boring, but I'll take dull over genuinely hard to look at 100 times out of 100. There's nothing to complain about really, but with Kevin Stefanski and Ian Cunningham ushering this team into a QB battle to start the new era, it's a step in the right direction.
