At this moment in time, the word often associated with offensive lineman Lamar Holmes is “soft”; soft like toilet paper, soft like baby food, or just plain soft. Holmes got his fair share of flak from fans last season when the offensive line was literally offending just about everyone. Holmes had to step in at right tackle when starting lineman Mike Johnson suffered a season ending injury last year. No one had any idea what was going to happen. We all saw it didn’t go well for Atlanta.
Now, you can’t say Holmes was the sole reason for the offensive line falling apart, but he didn’t exactly help the situation either. It was almost as if Holmes was thrown into the deep end of the pool, but wasn’t sure if he could swim or not. As usual, fans took to social media to give their unfiltered opinions of the situation. This season, however, things could be different for Holmes.
