Who to watch

As ever, preseason is about determining where players fit on the depth chart and which players deserve a place on the roster. It’s a time of evaluation, so which three players should we particularly look out for?

Tevin Coleman

Oh yes, we finally get a chance to see the third round pick in action. Tevin Coleman is set to return from a hamstring injury which kept him out of action in the Falcons’ first two preseason games, and his performance will go a long way to determining the starting running back in Week 1. Coleman hasn’t played an NFL snap yet, so seeing how he handles himself against a strong defensive line will be interesting. Is he the man to reboot the run game?

Adrian Clayborn

Adrian Clayborn made a huge impact in last week’s loss to the Jets. He was wreaking havoc on the right side with Vic Beasley, and the two formed a dominant pairing outside. Clayborn wracked up two tackles, a sack, a pass defense and a quarterback hit in New York and will be one to watch this week against a talented Miami offense.

Justin Hardy

Justin Hardy is a player I’m excited about and he’s once again one of my players to watch. With Roddy White injured, Hardy has an opportunity to shine on offense and earn himself more reps in the regular season. Right now, he sits behind Julio Jones, White and Leonard Hankerson on the depth chart and it’s going to take a lot for that to change. A good showing against the Dolphins could get him more time on the field, however.
