Now the Atlanta Falcons may not have made a splash when they brought Olamide Zaccheaus back to Atlanta, but that doesn't mean the veteran wide receiver won't make a big impact this season. In fact, Zaccheaus could be one of the most underrated pieces on all of Atlanta's roster…
The Falcons signed him for two main reasons: Reliability and versatility. Those two things have pretty much been Zaccheaus' calling card throughout his career, and it helps that he doesn't need to be the focal point of an offense to provide value.

Olamide Zaccheaus left the Atlanta Falcons after 2022 having never made the playoffs - What followed was a tour through Philadelphia, Washington and Chicago, and he made the postseason all three years.
That experience is exactly what he says he's bringing back to Atlanta as the Falcons look to make a playoff push.Â
"No winning seasons here, four years here, and I've been very blessed and fortunate to make the playoffs the last three years with three different teams," Zaccheaus said. "Just having that experience definitely helped me bring that here, and just knowing what it should look like, what it should feel like day in, day out."
Zaccheaus rejoins a WR squad that now consists of Drake London, newly signed Jahan Dotson, plus the third round rook that everyone loves to talk about Zachariah Branch.
This comes after Atlanta struggled to get consistent production from its secondary receivers last year. Guys like Darnell Mooney and Ray-Ray McCloud were supposed to be that answer in 2025 and fell short, but Zaccheaus offers reliability more than potential.
There's a real threat to his workload tho. The Athletic's Josh Kendall reported that Branch is "looming" behind the 29-year-old for the starting slot job, and that the rookie has been a standout at practice since he arrived. But the Virginia product has been impressive in his own right.
Now Zaccheaus isn't walking into Atlanta as a headline signing, and he won't be treated like one (rightfully so). But a receiver who's outproduced every non-London option in that room in a single season, and who's spent the last three years learning what winning looks like, is exactly the kind of player a rebuilding receiver corps needs holding it together.Â
If Branch pushes him for slot reps as the year goes on, that's a good problem to have. Until then, Zaccheaus is quietly one of the safer bets on this roster.
