By now we all know the story. Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg in a NY nightclub and it appears that he will face criminal charges in the matter. While I won’t defend anyone on either end of the situation I will say the following:
I respect the NY Giantsorganization and I like how they have built this team that is so dominant and I think Plaxico is a very talented receiver. But, at this point I say he has to go. Now if there are mandatory sentences to be handed out I don’t think that the Giants will have [...]

Plax has got to go!
The Falcons stunk it up, pure and simple. We had 3 turnovers and only managed 22 points. It is a good thing we played the Chargers who found every way possible to lose this game and bring the birds to an amazing 8-5 record!
The Chargers have just an awful club this year. Rivers is a good QB but he must have a fear of birds because he looked nothing like his usual self this season. Ladainian just appears to be a shell of his old self or he has the worst supporting cast in the last 5+ years. LT just [...]
A salute to Monte Kiffin
I like defensive football and I have admired Monte Kiffin’s brand of defense for many years. And with the news that it appears very likely (almost certain) that Monte will join his son in Tennessee I have to say that I will miss the guy and what he has done for the NFL.
Tampa 2, that will be what Kiffin is remembered for. A defense that preaches speed over size and multi-faceted players. I say that the Bucs defense was the reason that they were able to hoist the Lombardi trophy and that the effect of the Tampa 2 will someday get [...]
Falcons at Chargers
8-4 is possible this week for the dirty birds. Who would have thought that? Not even I did. Most people would have been happy with a 4-8 record for this team after 13 weeks with how these guys were expected to play. But play they have beating division leading Carolina last week and in the thick of an NFC playoff picture that could prove to be the hottest in years.
Let’s first take a look at the Falcons as they enter into a chance to take 1st place in the highly contested NFC South. First of all Atlanta has some injuries [...]
NFC divisional breakdown week 13
I think that this has been a great NFL season so far. The Falcons coming back from a 4-12 season last year to legitimate playoff contender being my favorite story (of course). But I want to break down the NFC today because I have a lot on my mind and I want to get it out there.
NFC North: You can find great stories all of the conference all over the place but this has to be the most boring division because it appears that not one of the teams in the division is really that interested in winning the division.
Chicago [...]
So I received an e-mail from the guys in the FSB and I, being the Falcons blogger and the bearer of all things Vick felt that I really should mention this.
Vicktory Dogs Wine Collection is a 22 bottle collection with awwwwwww handpainted pics of the Vick fighting dogs on the label. Now, as I have said before I don’t support Vick’s actions but this wine crap is just another way to capitalize on a guy who really messed up and the holier than thou idiots who will try to make a buck off of it.
Here is a pic of the bottles for [...]
Did you know that every 27 seconds an American is born without musical taste? They watch MTV and name the Jonas Brothers as their favorite band. They wear long flippy bangs…. and are guys. They actually watch the Superbowl and Thanksgiving Day game halftime shows and find them entertaining and think that Jesse McCartney is cooler than Paul McCartney. They have never heard of Led Zeppelin and wouldn’t know what to do if they heard the insightful lyrics of Bob Dylan. These poor unfortunate souls do not know what good music is and cannot differentiate the difference, so today I am here to help.
This [...]
Jenkins and Babineaux extended!
“We’re excited and pleased to extend the contracts of Falcons players who have made significant contributions to the overall success of our football team,” said Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff. “Michael and Jonathan are both team guys who work hard on and off the field and are both very productive on Sundays.”
Right on Falcons, right on! You reward the players that have helped you become one of the most improved teams in the NFL. I have said that Jenkins was the best player on this team but had not realized his potential. Well, here is proof that I was right. [...]
The 2007 Atlanta Falcons sucked. Sorry folks it’s true. We got killed in a lot of games and things just did not go our way that much, what with Petrino and Vick and only 4 wins……. Whatever! But, the San Diego Chargers…. there was a different story all together, they won 14 games and lost to a New England team in the closing seconds. Ok, that is now officially ancient history.
Atlanta now has a 7-4 record to the Chargers 4-7. My how the tables have turned. Michael Turner was signed away from the Chargers in the offseason and I will [...]
Atlanta Falcons: Back in Black!
This is why the NFL is the best league on earth. This is why the sport of football is so compelling. This was a game to be remembered in Falcons lore (if there is such a thing) forever.
The Atlanta Falcons needed to win this thing to keep pace in the NFC South and to send a message that last weeks defeat to the Broncos was a fluke and that these birds deserved to be in this postion. In beating this Panthers team it shows the league that coach Mike Smith is a hell of a coach putting his players in [...]
